The career of Irish born author Tim Wallace-Murphy has ebbed and flowed around the mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau for decades. From The Mask of the Beast, which he co-authored with the legendary Trevor Hopkins, to Rosslyn: Guardian of the Secrets of the Holy Grail (with Marilyn Hopkins). Another classic is Rex Deus, The True Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau and the Dynasty of Jesus, which he co-wrote with Graham Simmans and Marilyn Hopkins, and which is being reissued. Wallace-Murphy has contributed more, and for longer, than most. With Henry Lincoln, Tim Wallace-Murphy is truly one of the elder statesmen of the genre.

Renessence has learned that Andrew Gough has succeeded Web of Gold author Guy Patton as Chairman of the long standing Rennes-le-Chateau research society: The Rennes Group. Andrew comments:
“It is a great honour to be appointed Chairman of the Rennes Group and to succeed the legendary Guy Patton. Let me add that Guy will continue to be an active member but has decided to focus full time on his many research and writing projects.”
For those not familiar, the Rennes Group has distinguished itself with scholarly research distributed in quarterly journals over the past 17 years. Going forward, look for the Rennes Group to expand its reach to the internet, Twitter, Facebook and other channels, where we will distribute highlights from past journals and enable the back catalogue for purchase. Also, look for the Rennes Group to work corporately with other research organizations to jointly sponsor events such as lectures, conference, tour’s and focused research.
At the end of the day, the Rennes Group will maintain the intimacy of its bi-annual meetings and its charter will be unaltered: “Bringing together people with an interest in Rennes-le-Château’s archaeological, historical and esoteric past, including the geological, geographical, religious and political aspects. It’s just time to let more people know about our work and to involve them so that we, as a community, can progress our understanding of the subject matter that is near and dear to us all.”
